Each year the Connecticut Heritage Foundation supports the State Library and Museum of Connecticut History’s Third Thursday Brown Bag Lunchtime speaker series.  This series features a variety of speakers on various aspects of Connecticut history.

Adoption of the Connecticut Constitution of 1818 and its relevance today
With Wesley Horton

The year 1818 was an important year in the state of Connecticut: it was the year in which we adopted a state constitution. Although the Connecticut Constitution has been amended many times in the past 200 years, its basic protections remain largely unchanged. On September 15 from 12-1 p.m., Wesley W. Horton, Counsel to McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP and President of the Connecticut Supreme Court Historical Society, will discuss the adoption of the Connecticut Constitution of 1818 and its relevance today.
